On October 16, My Soul To Keep: A Black House Music Experience returns to the Historic Eldorado Ballroom for our second gathering—continuing our celebration of the legacy, evolution, and joy of Black house music.
This edition is led by Los Angeles-born @juliet__mendoza — DJ, dancer, cultural curator, and founder of Spiritual Systems Records. Rooted in her Black and Latin heritage and the lineage of house music, Juliet brings a dancer’s understanding of movement to the decks, weaving soulful, deep, Afro-influenced, percussive, and vocal house into sets built around one thing: the connection between the DJ and the dance floor. From Coachella to dance floors across Amsterdam, Paris, Mexico City, Tulum, Croatia, and beyond, she has shared stages with Louie Vega, Honey Dijon, Karizma, Osunlade, DJ Minx, Dennis Ferrer and more.
Joining her for the night:
@DJNimbus @Espeesound @DJElevated
Four distinct voices coming together inside one of Houston’s most historic Black cultural spaces for five hours dedicated to music, movement, community, and finding joy on the dance floor.
The first gathering introduced the vision. October 16, we continue the story.
